The Center Township Trustee offers assistance to residents who are experiencing financial hardship. Please visit our Assistance page to determine eligibility and view, download, or print the required forms.
We assist the less fortunate residents with life necessities on a temporary basis. We provide fire and emergency service protection and provide pertinent information to all residents of Center Township.
Our Services
Eligible applicants may receive assistance for rent or mortgage, utilities, food, medical care, burials, and other basic necessities, as determined by the trustee and the applicant’s caseworker.
Financial Wellness Workshop offered through United Way – interactive workshops built to give practical tools and strategies to use right away for budgeting basics, managing debt, saving for the future and saving for financial goals.

In partnership with the City of Valparaiso and Habitat for Humanity, Home Team Valpo is a new nonprofit organization created to assist qualifying homeowners in maintenance of their homes.
